Eduka launches RSL site in 4 days
The Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL) is the largest ex-service organisation in Australia and represents thousands of defence force personnel.
The Western Australian branch of the RSL was running a complicated website which was hard to navigate and hard to update. Information was laid out in a way that made it hard to access for those who are inexperienced with computers, or who have vision impairments. Given the older age-bracket of the website's main audience, this was a major concern.
As the central point for information on RSL branches and activities, the RSL website needed to be improved so that it was accessible to the people using it, as well as easier to manage for the people updating it. The website holds a great deal of information which needs to be organised in a way that avoids confusion as much as possible.
With the 2009 ANZAC Day ceremonies pending, RSL wanted to very quickly move the website to a platform that achieved all these goals. Within four days, we had migrated all of the content from the old site to its new structure on the EdukaCMS. The site was live a week ahead of ANZAC day, giving RSL plenty of time to make sure that all the necessary information was available to the public.
Now that the site is live, we are working with RSL to improve the structure of the sitemap and update the content available on the site. Because the EdukaCMS is so flexible, it will be easy to make these changes, allowing RSL to maintain a complete, informative and accessible website.
