Eduka Uncorks Plan B
The guys @ Plan B Wines wanted a website that truly reflected the quirkiness and originality of their brand. Above all, it had to be un-serious and it had to stretch to fit bigger screens.
That's because they are putting fun back into the wine business, whilst acknowledging that serious web users have monitors of the 22" variety.
It was a challenge we couldn't resist. Working closely with Terry and John (a *shudder* - graphic designer), we developed a website that follows the rules yet departs from the ordinary. Just like them.
The first thing you'll notice about the Plan B website is its colour – or rather, lack of colour. In fact, apart from the photographs of some fantastic Chardonnay and Shiraz, everything is black and white.
Instead of corporate team photographs, there are humorous sketches complete with devious little voice bubbles that appear when you roll your mouse over them.
Plan B tells its story in a fresh, light-hearted and deceptively informative manner. You'll have to read it to fully understand, if you still don't perhaps you'll need a Plan B.
Of course, we insisted on building the site to our usual standards. So, although it flies in the face of convention, it meets most of our laid out accessibility rules. What else would you expect from Eduka?
Who knows, Google might one day get a Plan B and index the site despite the home page not having any content.
